If it just has to work then don't use Evaluate

Besides being a poor programming practice (since you can't debug any problems,) @sort will only sort around 8100 numbers, and far fewer text values such as names. So you can run into trouble depending on the amount of data. The LS sorts I provided in another post will sort up to 64K elements regardless of the scalar values.
